FAQ
The following are a few of the most common questions and answers
Why did you put a HTML site up when you had such a nice animated site?
Search engines don't seem to be able to index Flash based sites very well. We want our site to show up whe someone searches for Lexington Bakery in their favorite search engine. The animated Flash site is still here.
How much advance notice do you need for cake orders?
It depends on the type of cake you are ordering. You can sometimes get a deluxe cake on the same day as these are relatively simple. We ask for at least a one week notice on sculpted cakes and at least a month on wedding cakes, preferrably two. We do book up on cakes especially on Saturdays so its always a good idea to get your order in as soon as possible. You can see a detailed description of our cake types and some pictures here.
How can I get my site linked in your links page?
Fill out the contact form and be willing to offer a return link from your site. We are a family oriented business and cannot accept links to any adult theme sites. We also will not link to "link farms".
I've always wanted to be a cake designer my whole life (well at least since Food Network aired). Will you hire me?
Fill free to give us a call at 859-278-7172 to check if we are hiring. There is a lot of interest in cake decorating right now so what we are looking for is people with an art background or experience decorating. We feel that we can train people to decorate but we can't train raw talent and that is primary thing we need in our decorators.
Where did the name "Caramanda's" come from?
Its very tempting to leave that a mystery, but we won't :). The name of our two daughters are "Cara" and "Amanda", that pretty much tells the story.
I'm with the press. Can we do a story on your Bakery?
As with any new business we can use all the press we can get. Call us at 859-278-7172 or email us and we would be glad to talk to you.
Can you ship your cakes?
Not at this time. There is no way, that we know of, to ship one of our cakes with any kind of assurance that it might make it to its destination intact. We will be shipping cookies and other items we feel are "shippable".
